Congress MLA Amil Joshiyara sought to know in the assembly whether the government appoints class IV employees on a permanent basis. Replying in the negative, Patel said that the government has adopted a policy through various government resolutions (GRs) to appoint staff through outsourcing for basic office facilities.

Joshiyara alleged, “Without any public consultation process, the state government has taken away jobs of thousands of poor persons who were expecting class IV jobs. It is shameful that the government has legalized exploitation of people through the outsourcing method.” Meanwhile, the state-wide Class IV employees association says it will hand over a memorandum to the chief minister next week. Association general secretary Pravin Solanki said the government discontinued the system of permanent appointment of class IV employees from 2005 itself. “This has led to organised corruption, where class I and II officers have a big role in giving contracts to people for appointing class IV workers in government offices,” he alleged.
