Nod for 204 vehicle fitness centres

Ahmedabad: The state government has sanctioned setting up of 204 fitness centres under the vehicle scrapping policy and all these will become operational by March this year. State government spokesperson Rushikesh Patel said that commercial vehicles which are 15 years old will have to undergo fitness test. He added that there are 23 lakh such vehicles in Gujarat and the policy does not make it mandatory to scrap vehicles that are more than 15 years old. tnn
