Man who shot Pradeep Don nabbed

AHMEDABAD:City crime branch officials nabbed Rakesh Pandya alias Brahman, who shot andkilled Pradeep Karneshwar alias Don, 56, on July 5 along with Jignesh Soni.Pandya, who was on the run since the killing, was caught near CTM bus stand whenhe came to the city to get some cash to sustain himself, said police officials.According to crime branch officials, a team led by sub-inspectors JDPurohit and JM Yadav were on a lookout near Amraiwadi on the basis of a tip-offwhen Pandya came to the bus stand to meet an accomplice. "Pandya was a member ofFracture Gang and was involved in a number of incidents, including vehiclethefts, armed robberies and physical assault. He was earlier nabbed for variousoffences and came in touch with Soni during frequent visits of Khadia's pols,"said Yadav.During preliminary questioning, Pandya told investigatorshe was offered cash, a car and a bungalow as reward for killing Karneshwar. Theofficials have already arrested Soni, Naman Vyas and Eric Shah in thecase."Pandya had fled to Junagadh, his hometown, after the incidentand was tracking the case through newspaper reports. He was forced to come tothe city when he ran out of money. Thus, he came to Ahmedabad to meet oldfriends and arrange for some more money," saidPurohit.
