AHMEDABAD: Playing ludo with a friend turned out to be dicey for a 29-year-old man after the friend's 18-year-old son attacked him with a sword. Sanjay Thakor allegedly attacked Mukesh Thakor in a fit of rage, blaming him for his father Bhopaji's ludo addiction. The incident took place in Patan on Sunday.

Mukesh, who required over 15 stitches to close the wounds, registered an FIR against Sanjay with A Division police in Patan city.

According to the complaint, Bhopaji and Mukesh were playing online ludo outside a temple in Patan on Sunday when Sanjay reached the spot and began hurling abuses. "Sanjay accused me of misguiding and spoiling his father. He started abusing me, saying I was the reason his father was addicted to ludo. I told him that I was playing the game only on his father's insistence," Mukesh's complaint stated.

When Bhopaji asked Sanjay to stop misbehaving with his friend, he went home in a huff and later returned with a sword, the complaint stated. He slashed at my head with the sword in a bid to kill me. When I tried to stop him, he attempted to chop off my fingers. He began threatening to chop off my hands, saying if he did that then I would never be able to play ludo with his father,” said Mukesh.

Mukesh’s brother Kalpesh said that he suffered severe injuries in the attack and was taken to Patan Civil Hospital where a medico-legal case was filed. Kalpesh further stated that both Sanjay and Mukesh were drunk when the incident took place. Patan police have registered a case of causing grievous hurt and criminal intimidation against Sanjay and begun investigation.
