CK Nayudu Trophy: Gujarat win by 34 runs

Ahmedabad: Gujarat bowlers rose to the occasion to take their team to a 34-run win over Himachal Pradesh in the Col C K Nayudu Trophy at the Sardar Patel Stadium, Valsad, on Tuesday.
Electing to bat after winning the toss, Gujarat made 222 riding on Saral Prajapati’s 75 and Aarya Desai’s 63. For Himachal, Himanshu Beck bagged five wickets giving away 61 runs while Ritik Kumar took four wickets giving away 63 runs. In reply, Aryavrat Sharma mae a superb 80 as Himachal took a crucial 44-run lead in the first innings by making 266.
Saral bagged a fifer for Gujarat and was ably supported by Yuvrajsinh Zala’s four-wicket haul.
Gujarat, in their second innings, made 227, courtesy Rishi Patel’s 67 and Priyesh Patel’s 62. Beck and Ritik grabbed four wickets a piece. Chasing 184 for victory, Saral and Yuvrajsinh wrecked havoc as they shared eight wickets between them to bowl Himachal out for 149. TNN
