Ahmedabad records max temp of 43.2°C
Ahmedabad: The city recorded a maximum temperature of 43.2°C on Tuesday, 1.3 degrees above normal. It was the second consecutive day of temperatures above 43°C for the city. At 28.2°C, the minimum temperature was on a par with long-term normal temperatures. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast, the city’s maximum temperature is likely to be around 43°C on Wednesday.
According to the IMD forecast for the state, there will be no large change in maximum temperatures during next three days. Thereafter a gradual fall by 2-3 degrees is very likely. Maximum temperatures could be above 40°C during the next seven days in isolated pockets of the state.
The forecast indicated that till May 28, there could be hot and humid conditions across the coastal regions of the state. Thunderstorm with light to moderate rain is likely in Sabarkantha, Aravalli and Mahisagar on May 30, and in Sabarkantha, Aravalli, Panchmahal, Dahod, and Mahisagar on May 31.
Surendranagar was the hottest weather station in the state at 44.3°C, followed by Ahmedabad at 43.2°, Rajkot at 42.7°C, and Bhavnagar at 42.2°C.
