Ahmedabad: Civil Hospital organ retrievals hit 800-mark

Ahmedabad: Retrieval of organs from a brain-dead youth at Civil Hospital on Sunday has taken the total number of organ donations from brain-dead patients to 800. Officials said that Ashok Gogvale, 30, from Champaner was brought to the hospital after a severe road accident. He was declared brain-dead, after which his family consented for organ donation, and the retrieval of a liver and two kidneys was carried out on Sunday.
