AHMEDABAD: A 40-year-old man from the Chanakyapuri area of the city on Sunday filed a complaint with Sola police alleging that two men attacked him when he tried to save a shopkeeper from them on Friday afternoon.

Anil Sharma, a resident of Chanakyapuri who earns his livelihood by painting, said in his FIR that he had gone to a paint shop near Chanakyapuri bridge on Friday when the incident took place.

Sharma said that the shopkeeper identified as Subhash Patel was talking with him. At that time, two men identified as Manish Chauhan and Rahul Jatav holding iron rods rushed there and attacked Patel. At that time, Sharma intervened due to which he suffered injuries on his head.

The two men left the spot and Sharma was taken to Sola Civil Hospital where he was given six stitches on his head. A medico-legal case was filed at the hospital.

Sharma said that he had taken outdoor treatment and had severe pain in his head due to which he did not go to police station to file a complaint.

Sharma on Sunday approached Sola police and filed a complaint of causing grievous hurt, using abusive words and abetment against Chauhan and Jatav.
