in which 50 persons were arrested or detained. Police seized 545 bottles of

The teams seized 1 mini bus, two bikes and a car involved in ferrying the liquor in different cases. Traffic police registered seven cases of drunken driving on Saturday. From December 21, the total number of cases under prohibition laws in the city is 219.
In city periphery, rapid response (RR) cell of Ahmedabad range police on Saturday registered two cases for violation of prohibition laws.
Working on information, police team searched a residence at Dharji village near Bavla and found IMFL stock worth Rs38,400. Police arrested Naresh Padhar, owner of the residence.
In another incident, RR Cell booked two persons -
Kuldeep Mehta
, a resident of Jodhpur, Ahmedabad, and Palak Patel, a resident of Bopal - in a search operation at I-care Infotech, a call centre located at SoBo Centre in South Bopal. The team has handed over further probe to Bopal police.
In the incident, police have also seized computers from the premises. Investigators said that they have found script for IRS scam and information of US citizens that might work as probable lead during search. “It is yet to be ascertained whether the call centre is involved in any illegal activity. We would send the computers for forensic analysis,” said an RR Cell official. It is the first instance in city periphery where a call centre is found with the probability of scam, expanding its scope.
