Third admission round likely to fill 600 PG medical seats
The admission committee for professional postgraduate medical courses is expected to announce a third round of admissions in Ahmedabad, India. This comes after the Union health ministry revised the minimum qualifying percentile in NEET PG 2023 to zero, resulting in 600 vacant seats. These seats include non-clinical branches, which are usually less preferred. The central committee has already announced a third round of admissions, with the schedule to be released later. The state admission committee will follow suit after the national admission committee's round is completed.
15k seats still vacant in paramedical courses
The admission committee for Gujarat professional nursing and allied medical educational courses announced that there are 15,808 vacant seats in paramedical courses. Students who have been allotted seats in the second round must pay their tuition fees by September 22 and get their documents verified by September 23. In other news, the GMCH Nurses Welfare Association in Chandigarh plans to protest against the lack of filling vacant nursing posts, and Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has approved IP University's decision to admit students to its law programs based on their aggregate score in three subjects.
LG nod to fill vacant seats for law courses at IP Univ
Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has approved IP University's proposal to admit students to its law programs based on their aggregate scores in three subjects in the common university entrance test. However, Saxena expressed concern that the approval was sought late, causing inconvenience to students. The admissions will be based on scores in English, legal studies, and general tests. The Delhi government accused Saxena of taking credit for their initiative to fill vacancies in private colleges. Saxena directed the government to process future admission proposals through the regulatory committee.
