11-year-old boy’s bicycle mishap leads to knife attack on his mother
Ahmedabad: A woman was attacked with a knife following a minor bicycle accident involving her 11-year-old son in Ambawadi area of Ahmedabad on Thursday afternoon.
According to the complaint filed by 35-year-old woman, a resident of Ganeshnagar Awas Yojana in Bhudarpura, the attack occurred around 1pm when her son was riding a bicycle near their housing complex. While she was preparing lunch at home, two local children informed her that her son had accidentally run his bicycle over a woman’s foot, resulting in an argument.
The complainant rushed downstairs to the gate of the residential complex, where she found her son with the bicycle. He reportedly told her that the woman involved in the dispute had already left the spot.
A short while later, two youths allegedly arrived at the gate and enquired about the boy. The complainant told them that her son was a child and that what happened was an accident. However, the discussion soon escalated into a heated argument.
According to police, the two men allegedly began abusing the complainant. One of them then allegedly pulled out a knife and attempted to attack her. She reportedly ducked to avoid the blow but sustained an injury on the left side of her head.
Her cries for help attracted local residents, prompting the accused to flee the scene. Bystanders allegedly identified the suspects as residents of the Bhilvas area in Bhudarpura.
