Agra: A 45-year-old woman was allegedly killed by her husband following a domestic dispute in Nagla Nande village of Firozabad district, police said on Tuesday. Ashutosh Singh, 50, slit the throat of his wife, Lata Devi, after an argument turned violent at their home.
Neighbours told the police that the couple's relations had soured since last year after their 20-year-old son was jailed in Delhi in a theft case. On Tuesday, the couple got into a heated argument, during which Singh allegedly attacked Devi with a sharp-edged weapon.
Neighbours rushed to the house after hearing the commotion and found Singh sitting beside his wife's body. Sirsaganj circle officer Anivesh Singh, along with a field unit team, reached the spot, collected evidence, and sent the body for post-mortem. The accused was taken into custody and a case of murder was registered on the basis of a complaint lodged by the woman's family.
