AGARTALA: Congress and CPM cadres in Tripura have alleged that they were attacked by BJP members at various places in the states soon after the election schedule was announced.
The ruling BJP, in turn, has raised similar allegations against CPM. According to reports, 35 incidents of political violence have been reported to the police in the state since March 10, the day on which the poll schedule was announced.
As many as 103 persons have been accused of perpetrating violence and at least 42 persons were reportedly injured in the incidents.
At least 23 persons have been arrested in connection with these cases and six have surrendered to police. Notices have been served on 62 accused persons.
