Tata AIG launches 365-day travel insurance cover
Mumbai: TATA AIG General Insurance, which accounts for nearly a third of the country's overseas travel insurance premium, has recently launched 'Travel Guard Plus', a travel insurance plan that provides coverage for up to one year through multiple or single trips.
Optional assistance services such as Care at Home, Baggage tracking, and Lost Passport tracking have been added to enhance convenience for travellers. The company has built up its market share by adopting a technology-led approach to providing coverage. Also, its joint venture partner AIG has one of the widest global networks.
Among the customizations are three add-on bundles – Cruise Bundle, Travel Plus Bundle, and Accident Bundle – which cater to cruise-related contingencies. The policy also offers add-ons for frequent flyer cover, coma cover, and adventure sports cover.
The plans have been customized in addition to the base plans. Moreover, the policy provides optional assistance services, allowing travelers to customise their coverage further.
For non-medical coverage only, there is a plan tailored to their needs, making it ideal for students studying abroad or young travellers on short trips. Additionally, a separate plan is specifically designed for the Schengen geographical scope.
The coverage includes new-age risks such as adventure sports, instant compensation for flight cancellation/delay, loss of Personal Baggage, Personal Accident in India, and pandemic coverage. Moreover, TATA AIG offers specialized plans for seniors, with the Senior Plus plan catering to individuals aged 71-80 with a higher medical sum insured of up to $100,000 and the Super Senior plan for those over 80 with a medical sum insured of up to $50,000.
