Cops probe role of officials in Snapdeal case

MUMBAI: The Panvel city police are looking into the role of officials other than the Snapdeal CEO, who were responsible for the sale of non-OTC drugs, to ascertain their role in the alleged illegal sale. According to the police, it needs to be ascertained whether the concerned officials had followed the legal procedures as mandated by the FDA for sale of prescription drugs. The police also recorded the statement of a courier company representative, who had delivered drugs on behalf of Snapdeal. Earlier, the police had recorded the statement of the pharmacist who had complained to the state FDA.— George Mendonca
