CCL plans to expand Vietnam, Chittoor plants
Hyderabad: Guntur-based coffee manufacturer
The Rs 1,100-crore turnover listed player, which claims to be the world’s largest private label instant coffee manufacturer, will invest $12 million in an agglomeration (3,000 tpa) and packaging facility (2,000 tpa) at Chittoor, where it has a capacity of 5000 tonnes per annum (tpa), and the remaining $8 million in expanding the Vietnam plant from 10,000 tpa to 13500 tpa, all through internal accruals, Challa Srisant, MD, CCL Products (India) Ltd, said.
CCL has plants in Chittoor, Vietnam, Switzerland and Guntur with a combined capacity of 35,000 tpa, including 24,000 tpa spray dried and granulated coffee and 11,000 tpa of premium variety freeze dried coffe. It also has a capacity to process over 15,000 tonnes of coffee-related products like pre-mixes.
The hitherto B2B player, which forayed into the Rs 2500 crore Indian coffee market last year with the Continental Coffee brand, has recently roped in South actress Nithya Menen as its brand ambassador as it tries to boost its India business from 7% of total revenues to 15% over the next couple of years.
