Bajaj Allianz launches HERizon Care healthcover for women
Mumbai: Bajaj Allianz General Insurance has launched a health insurance policy focused on women’s healthcare needs, covering critical illnesses, reproductive health, and wellness. The policy, HERizon Care, offers multiple specialized covers in a single plan.
The plan includes Vita Shield, covering 34 critical illnesses, both general and female-specific. Policyholders can opt for extensions such as child education support in case of critical illness, financial assistance for job loss due to illness, and coverage for incidental medical expenses, including reconstructive surgery, physiotherapy, home nursing, and rehabilitation. The policy also provides access to wellness services like diet consultations, emotional wellness programs, teleconsultations, and preventive check-ups.
Cradle Care, another component, covers medical expenses for surrogate mothers and hospitalization costs related to complications from oocyte retrieval. Additional optional covers include Nurture Nest Cover for infertility treatments, adoption expenses, and egg-freezing; Motherhood Cover for assisted reproductive technologies like IUI, IVF, ICSI, GIFT, and ZIFT; and Fetal Flourish Cover for prenatal techniques, in-utero surgeries, and congenital disability treatments, along with a hospitalization allowance. The plan also covers preventive mastectomy and hysterectomy under Prophylactic Surgeries Cover and provides legal expense support for cases involving sexual assault, kidnapping, and acid attacks.
Bhaskar Nerurkar, head of health insurance at Bajaj Allianz General Insurance, said elective procedures under this policy have a 24-month waiting period. He added that the cost of elective procedure coverage is lower than other critical illness covers.
“In today’s world, critical illness coverage is essential as non-communicable diseases are rising. For today’s career woman, critical illness cover is a necessity,” Nerurkar said, adding that it can be taken along with an existing health insurance policy.
The policy is available for women aged 18-80 years and children from 90 days to 35 years, with sum insured options ranging from Rs. 3 lakh to Rs. 2 crore. It offers policy terms of 1 to 5 years with lifelong renewals and discounts on premiums for HPV vaccination, early entry, loyalty, and long-term policies.
