Steps to log in to income tax website
NEW DELHI: Are you confused about how to login or sign in to the official website of the Income Tax Department of India? Here's a step-by-step guide to help with the process:
1) Go to the official website of the Income Tax Department - https://incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/home
2) Once you open the page, you will see a box on the right side that has three options - 'Register yourself' for new users, 'Login Here' for existing users and the third button is for 'Help'
3) If you are new to the Income Tax website, click on Register Yourself
a) Now from drop down menu select your user type or the category of taxpayer
b) Once you select the category, a form will appear where you need to enter other details such as - PAN, Name, Date of Birth and other certificates. Click on continue
c) Once the basic information is filled, you will proceed towards Registration Form, enter all required details and proceed for Registration Verification.
d) once the verification is done, a message will be displayed "Registration Successful".
4) And now, if you have already registered, Click on 'Login Here'
5) Enter your User ID, password, Captcha Code. In this case, the user ID is your PAN number.

?The Income Tax Return Form can be filed in any of the following ways:- by furnishing the return in a paper form;
- by furnishing the return electronically under digital signature;
- by transmitting the data in the return electronically under electronic verification code;
- by transmitting the data in the return electronically and thereafter submitting the verification of the return in Return Form ITR-V;
- Do we need to attach any documents along with the income tax return form?Taxpayers are not required to attach any document along with the ITR forms - whether filed manually or filed electronically. However, taxpayer should save documents like proof of investment, TDS certificates etc. to be produced before the tax authorities when demanded.
