Bhupathi-Bopanna open against Mirnyi-Bury in London Olympics

BANGALORE: The seventh-seeded all-Indian combine of Mahesh Bhupathi and Rohan Bopanna go up against the Belarusian pairing of doubles world no.1 Max Mirnyi and unknown 24-year-old Alexander Bury in the first round of the Olympic tennis competition, beginning at the All England Club on Saturday.
Bhupathi and Bopanna are placed in the bottom quarter of the top half of the men's doubles draw and find themselves in the same section as the third seeded Serbs Nenad Zimonjic and Janko Tipsarevic.
The other Indian pair in the men's draw - world no.5 Leander Paes and Vishnu Vardhan - open against the Dutch combine of Robin Hasse and Jean-Julien Rojer.
Paes and Vishnu are placed in the bottom half of the draw in the same section as France's no.2 seeds Michael Llodra and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga
In the women's doubles draw, India's wildcard pairing of Sania Mirza and Rushmi Chakravarthi go up against Taipei's Chia-Jung Chuang and Su-Wei Hsieh. Sania and Chennai veteran Rushmi are placed in the top half of the draw.
