Amidst Chennai's heavy rainfall, an orange alert has been issued. The residents are now taking measures to protect their vehicles from potential flood damage—a common cause of expensive repairs. Interestingly, they have found a rather unconventional way to do so - by parking their cars on flyovers. Many have turned to this solution, with a video of the scene quickly going viral. Shared on Instagram, the video has so far amassed over four million views, 134,000 likes and close to a lakh shares.
Chennai flyover parking: What we see
The viral video shows neatly arranged cars, parked along the sides of both lower and upper flyovers, while traffic continues to flow. On the positive side, the manner in which the cars have been parked is laudable as the vehicles are not restricted movements for other vehicles. A long queue of vehicles, including personal and commercial vehicles can be seen parked on both sides of the lower flyover. On the other hand, the upper one has a long queue on one of its sides.
