Maruti Suzuki appoints Partho Banerjee as head of sales & marketing: Will replace Shashank Srivastava

In a significant development, Maruti Suzuki India has announced its board's decision to appoint Partho Banerjee as the new head of marketing and sales, effective April 1, 2024. Banerjee, presently serving as Head of Service, will take over the reins from Shashank Srivastava, who will be transferred to the Member Executive Committee, as per a regulatory filing by the auto major.

Besides that, Tarun Aggarwal has been named as the Head of Engineering, starting from April 1, 2024. Aggarwal's appointment follows the transfer of CV Raman to the Member Executive Committee. Presently, Aggarwal holds the position of Executive Officer and Head of Powertrain vertical. Moreover, Sandeep Raina has been promoted as Head of Product Planning, while Ram Suresh Akella will now lead the Service department.


In another move, Maruti Suzuki India has transferred Rajesh Uppal, who currently serves as Head of HR & IT, to the Member Executive Committee.

The automaker also announced the appointments of Manoj Gautam as Head of Information Technology (IT) and Salil B Lal as Head of Human Resources (HR), effective April 1, 2024.

Furthermore, Sunil Kakkar has been reassigned from Head of Supply Chain to Head of Corporate Planning, while Deepak Thukral and Rahul Bharti have been designated as Head of Supply Chain and Head of Corporate Affairs, respectively. The management reshuffle signifies a strategic move towards strengthening the leadership team to drive the company's future growth trajectory in India.
