Maruti Suzuki Fronx facelift spied testing: Big changes, features & more
Maruti Suzuki India seems to be busy working on updates across its lineup. Test mules of models like the Maruti Suzuki Brezza and Maruti Suzuki Baleno have already been spotted multiple times, hinting at upcoming refreshes. Now, adding to that list, the Maruti Suzuki Fronx facelift has also been seen out on test, suggesting that the company is gradually preparing a series of mid-cycle updates for some of its popular models.
The Maruti Suzuki Fronx is set for a mid-cycle update, with the facelift expected to be introduced later this year by Maruti Suzuki India Limited. Launched in April 2023, the model has become one of the highest-selling sub-compact SUVs and ranked as the second best-selling Nexa offering in FY2026, with sales of over 1.72 lakh units.
As per the spied image, the overall silhouette of the Fronx looks the same as the outgoing model, it's expected to get a complete redesign at the front and rear. The test mule is still heavily camouflaged, so it’s tough to make out any clear design changes for now. At the front, the Fronx is expected to get a larger, revised grille with slimmer chrome elements, along with possible changes to the headlamp and DRL layout. It may also feature a new lower grille design. In profile, the update is likely to include newly designed 16-inch alloy wheels. At the rear, the SUV is expected to receive a revised tailgate, a new lower bumper, and subtle updates to the connected LED taillamps.
On the inside, the overall cabin layout is expected to remain unchanged, though it could receive a new interior theme. Features such as a free-standing 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic LED headlamps with DRLs, wireless charging, automatic climate control, connected car tech, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, Arkamys-tuned sound system, cruise control, height-adjustable driver’s seat, rear AC vents, auto-dimming IRVM, HUD display, 360-degree camera, up to 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, and ESP with hill-hold assist will continue. Additionally, the facelifted model features a single pane sunroof, ambient lighting, a new cluster and more.
In terms of powertrain, there are no confirmations as of now. It’s expected to continue with the same set of engine options which include a 1.2-litre NA petrol engine with 89 bhp of power and 113 Nm of torque. The other engine option is a 1.0-litre booster jet turbocharged petrol engine with 100 bhp of power and 148 Nm of torque. Gearbox options include a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic.
