Maruti Brezza facelift spied, launch soon: Key updates expected
Maruti Suzuki Brezza is set to receive an update soon, with multiple test mules spotted on Indian roads in recent months. The SUV, which entered its second generation in 2022, appears to be heading for a comprehensive facelift as it moves further into its lifecycle. While the basic structure of the vehicle is expected to remain unchanged, the upcoming version could bring noticeable updates to its styling, equipment list and possibly some mechanical elements as well. Here’s a quick look at some of the key updates we can expect.
Going by the spy shots, the overall silhouette of the Brezza will remain largely the same. However, the front and rear sections are expected to receive significant styling revisions. The facelifted model will likely feature a redesigned front bumper and a refreshed grille. Similar cosmetic tweaks are expected at the rear as well. Interestingly, despite the growing trend of connected tail lamps across new SUVs, the updated Brezza is not expected to adopt this design element. Other exterior highlights could include newly styled 16-inch alloy wheels, sleek LED headlamps with DRLs, roof rails and an integrated rear spoiler.
Inside the cabin, the general layout is likely to stay familiar, but Maruti Suzuki is expected to introduce small updates to freshen up the interior. These could include a redesigned centre console, new upholstery and updated trim elements. Spy images also hint at a larger touchscreen infotainment system than the current model. In terms of equipment, the SUV is expected to offer features such as wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, connected car technology, wireless charging and a premium sound system. Other features likely to continue include a heads-up display, cruise control, automatic climate control, ambient lighting, a single-pane electric sunroof and ventilated front seats.
On the mechanical side, the facelift could bring minor suspension tweaks aimed at improving ride comfort and handling. One recent test mule was seen with a 6-speed manual gearbox, suggesting that Maruti Suzuki may introduce an additional gear compared to the current setup. This change is likely intended to improve gear ratios for smoother highway cruising.
While there is speculation about the possibility of the 1.0-litre three-cylinder Boosterjet turbo-petrol engine from the Maruti Suzuki Fronx making its way to the Brezza, there has been no official confirmation yet.
For now, the SUV is expected to continue with the familiar 1.5-litre four-cylinder NA petrol engine that produces 103 PS of power and 137 Nm of torque. Transmission options are likely to include the new 6-speed manual and the existing 6-speed torque-converter automatic. The CNG version of the Brezza could also receive an underbody CNG tank setup similar.
