Hyundai Exter facelift spotted: What to expect at launch
Fresh spy shots of the upcoming Hyundai Exter facelift have surfaced online, this time from Hyundai’s home market of South Korea. The micro SUV has been undergoing tests for a while now, and it was also seen on Indian roads last month, hinting that the launch could be drawing closer.
The latest test mule appears to be a lower-spec variant, riding on 14-inch steel wheels. It is heavily camouflaged, but a few design details are visible. The front fascia seems to feature a revised grille and a reworked bumper. The split headlamp setup has been retained, along with the distinctive H-shaped LED daytime running lights. At the rear, the facelifted model is expected to get a redesigned tailgate, refreshed tail-lamps and a new bumper. Interestingly, the test vehicle spotted overseas does not appear to have roof rails.
The cabin layout is likely to remain largely similar. However, Hyundai could introduce a larger touchscreen infotainment system besides the addition of a few convenience features.
Under the hood, the Exter facelift is likely to continue with the same 1.2-litre petrol engine, paired with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or an AMT. A factory-fitted CNG option is also expected to be retained.
Reports suggest Hyundai may launch the updated Exter in the first half of 2026. The timing is notable, especially after the recent arrival of the facelifted Tata Punch, one of its key rivals in the segment.
