Ford issues massive recall for 83,000 vehicles including Mustang and more
Ford Motor Company is recalling more than 83,000 vehicles due to issues that could cause power loss or reduced visibility while driving in the United States.the The recall covers 83,576 vehicles, according to two notices published on March 3 on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) website.
One recall involves 35,772 vehicles equipped with the Dynamic Bending Light system. A software issue may cause the headlights, which adjust direction while turning or driving through curves, to move incorrectly. This could create glare for other road users and limit visibility for the driver. The second recall affects 47,804 vehicles due to a faulty exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve. If the valve fails, the vehicle may suddenly lose drive power, increasing the risk of a crash.
The affected vehicles include several 2025 model year Ford and Lincoln vehicles and some 2026 models. These include the 2025–2026 Ford Explorer, 2025 Ford Bronco, 2025 Ford Bronco Sport, 2025 Ford Escape, 2025 Ford Explorer, 2025 Ford Maverick, 2025 Ford Mustang, 2025 Ford Ranger, 2025 Lincoln Corsair and the 2025 Lincoln Nautilus. Ford said the issue will be fixed free of charge. Vehicles affected by the headlight software problem can receive an update at a dealership or through an over-the-air (OTA) update. Owner notification letters for affected 2025–2026 Explorers will be mailed on March 23. Owners can contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 and refer to recall number 26C12 for more information.
