Yamaha R3 and MT-03 accessories with price list revealed: Details
Yamaha Motor India recently launched the new Yamaha R3 and Yamaha MY-03 in the Indian market. Both bikes will be bought to India via the CBU route and the R3 was sold in India earlier and is priced at Rs 4.64 lakh (ex-showroom). The MT-03 comes to India for the first time and is priced at Rs 4.59 lakh (ex-showroom). The company has now revealed the accessories and their prices for both bikes.
The accessories are aimed towards making the bikes look enhancing and improving their aesthetics. Yamaha is offering a rear seat cowl with two colour options – black and blue for the MT-03 and R3 priced at Rs. 7,500. The R3 can also be equipped with a bubble-type polycarbonate visor which helps with aerodynamics and reduces wind blast when covering long distances at high speeds. The windshield kit is priced at Rs 8,200. The seat cowl in both bikes ensures the tail section looks cleaner and sharper.
These are the only accessories that Yamaha India is offering but the company is offering lots of accessories in the European markets. The accessory kit includes a quick-shifter, slip-on carbon fibre muffler from Akrapovic, Öhlins NIX 22 USD cartridge kit, corresponding spring set, Öhlins STX 46 gas-charged mono-shock, tank bag and rear soft panniers.
In terms of design, the R3 looks very similar to the R15. It gets fully faring with dual LED headlamps up front and intake in the centre. The bike weighs in at 169kg and has a low seat height of 780mm. The bike also gets an upside-down fork at the front and a mono-shock setup at the rear. Braking duties are taken care of by discs on both ends with dual-channel ABS.
Talking about the engine, the R3 is powered by a 321cc, liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine that puts out 41.4 BHP of power and 29.6 nm of torque. The engine comes paired with a 6-speed gearbox. In terms of features, the R3 gets an LCD instrument cluster but it doesn’t offer Bluetooth connectivity.
The MT-03 too looks similar to the MT-15 and gets a naked design. It features an LED headlamp with an aggressively styled fuel tank and extensions on both ends. The MT-03 also gets an upside-down fork at the front and mono-shock at the rear just like the R3. The MT-03 is identical to the R3 with the same chassis and engine. The bike is powered by the same 321cc parallel twin motor which puts out 42hp and 29.5Nm and comes paired with a 6-speed gearbox.
