BMW F 450 GS launched in India! Price, variants, specs, features & more
BMW Motorrad has finally launched the much-anticipated BMW F 450 GS in India. The new ADV replaces the outgoing BMW G 310 GS and sits as the brand’s most accessible GS offering in the country. The bike is priced from Rs 4.70 lakh, ex-showroom, and the deliveries are expected to begin soon. The model will be offered in three variants, priced at Rs 4.70 lakh for the base version, Rs 4.90 lakh for the Exclusive trim, and Rs 5.30 lakh for the top-spec GS Trophy variant. All prices are ex-showroom. It will be available in three variants: Base, Exclusive, and GS Trophy.
Designed and developed in Germany, the F 450 GS will be manufactured locally at TVS Motor Company’s Hosur facility. The model debuts in the highly-competitive mid-capacity ADV segment and will compete with the likes of the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and KTM 390 Adventure, albeit with a more premium positioning.
At the heart of the F 450 GS is a new 420 cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine that produces around 48 hp and 43 Nm of torque. The motor is paired with a 6-speed gearbox and comes equipped with a slipper clutch and a bi-directional quickshifter.
The motorcycle rides on a 43 mm USD front fork and a rear monoshock setup. Braking duties are handled by a 310 mm front disc and a 240 mm rear disc, supported by dual-channel ABS. It gets four riding modes: Road, Rain, Enduro, and Enduro Pro (exclusive to the GS Trophy variant).
It runs on a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel combination, fitted with dual-purpose tyres.
On the electronics front, the BMW F 450 GS comes across as a well-equipped and premium offering for its segment. The motorcycle is fitted with a 6.5-inch coloured TFT display, which supports Bluetooth connectivity and works alongside BMW’s multi-controller. The screen shows all key ride data and also supports basic connectivity functions.
Lighting is fully LED across the motorcycle. There is also a USB Type-C charging port. The bike is also equipped with ABS Pro, which works even when leaned over, and Dynamic Traction Control, which helps manage wheel slip under acceleration. Additionally, it features Engine Drag Torque Control, which prevents rear wheel instability during aggressive downshifts or sudden throttle roll-offs.
Other notable electronic features include heated grips and an Easy Ride Clutch (ERC) available on select variants, making low-speed riding and off-road manoeuvres easier.
