BMW F 450 GS bookings open, launch soon: All you need to know
BMW Motorrad has opened bookings for its upcoming adventure motorcycle, the BMW F 450 GS, ahead of its India launch scheduled for April 23, 2026. Interested buyers can now reserve the motorcycle through authorised dealerships, with further details on booking amounts being shared at the dealer level.
The F 450 GS marks BMW’s new entry point into the adventure segment in India and is set to replace the outgoing BMW G 310 GS. Designed and developed in Germany, the bike will be manufactured locally at TVS Motor Company’s Hosur facility. Once launched, it will take on rivals such as the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and KTM 390 Adventure, although it is expected to sit at a more premium price point.
Powering the motorcycle is a new 450 cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine that produces around 48 hp and 43 Nm of torque. The motor is paired with a 6-speed gearbox and comes equipped with a slipper clutch and a bi-directional quickshifter.
In terms of hardware, the F 450 GS is expected to feature a 43 mm USD front fork and a rear monoshock setup. Braking duties are handled by a 310 mm front disc and a 240 mm rear disc. The bike rides on a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel combination, fitted with dual-purpose tyres.
The motorcycle will come with a 6.5-inch TFT display with smartphone connectivity, along with multiple riding modes, traction control, and switchable dual-channel ABS. Additional features such as heated grips, ABS Pro, Dynamic Traction Control, Engine Drag Torque Control and Dynamic Brake Control are also part of the package. BMW is likely to offer the F 450 GS in four variants: Basic, Exclusive, Sport and GS Trophy.
Globally, the motorcycle offers multiple seat height options. The standard seat height stands at 845 mm, which can be adjusted to either 835 mm or 860 mm depending on the seat configuration. While official pricing for India has not been announced yet, the F 450 GS is expected to be priced upwards of Rs 5 lakh, ex-showroom.
