BMW Motorrad is gearing up to launch the F 900 GS and F 900 GS Adventure motorcycles in India, with bookings now open following a recent teaser. These new models, arriving via the CBU route, will replace the current F 850 GS and Adventure variants in the lineup. The standard F 900 GS will be more of an off-road focused machine while the latter will be an Adventure tourer.
BMW F 900 GS, F 900 GS Adventure: Hardware and features
The F 900 GS, weighing in at just 219 kg, is 27 kg lighter than the F 900 GS Adventure. Notable hardware highlights include a 21-17-inch spoke wheel setup with block-pattern tyres, USD front forks and a rear monoshock unit carrying out the suspension duties. Both are manually adjustable. Interestingly, it shares its headlamp with its smaller sibling, the G310GS.
On the other hand, the F 900 GS Adventure is tailored for touring, sporting road-biased tyres and more substantial bodywork. It boasts a 23-litre fuel tank, significantly larger than the standard model’s 14.5-litre capacity. Additionally, the Adventure variant includes electronic suspension adjustment, setting it apart from the standard version.
In terms of features, both models will include a host of features such as a 6.5-inch TFT display, multiple power and ride modes, ABS, bi-directional quickshifter, traction control and more.
BMW F 900 GS, F 900 GS Adventure: Engine specs
As for the engine, both models will share the new 895 cc, twin-cylinder motor that makes 105 hp and 93 Nm of peak torque. As a result, it makes around 10 hp and 1 Nm more than the outgoing 853 cc models. The engine will come mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
The BMW F 850 GS and F 850 GSA are currently priced at Rs 12.95 lakh and Rs 13.75 lakh, respectively. The upcoming F 900 GS and F 900 GS Adventure models are likely to be priced higher. Price announcements for the models can be expected soon.
