Award-winning dubbing artist Bhagyalakshmi is expected to be one of the most popular contestants in Bigg Boss Malayalam 3. The 58-year-old, who started her dubbing career at the age of 10, has lent voice to most of the popular actresses in Mollywood and has more than 200 films to her credit.
The artist gained her first recognition for the movie, 'Kolilakam', dubbing for actress Sumalatha. Later, she has lent voice to actresses Menaka, Nadiya Moidu, Urvashi, Suhasini Maniratnam, Nayanthara and more. Bhagyalakshmi is still lauded for her outstanding work for Shobhana in the evergreen movie, 'Manichithrathazhu'.
Notably, she also holds the record of winning the maximum number of Kerala State Film awards for a dubbing artist.
Besides dubbing, Bhagyalakshmi has also proved her acting prowess in Mollywood. She made her acting debut with the movie, 'Manassu' in 1973. Recently she was seen playing a meaty role in the movie 'Madhuram Jeevitham'. Interestingly, Bhagyalakshmi and former Bigg Boss contestant Rajini Chandy acted together in the movie, 'Oru Muthashi Gadha' and the striking chemistry of the duo was much loved by the audience.
Bhagyalakshmi has also published her autobiography 'Swarabhedangal', which has even won Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award.
On the TV front, Bhagyalakshmi has also dubbed for many popular characters in serials. In 2002, she has also won the Kerala State TV awards for the best dubbing artist. Recently, Bhagyalakshmi made headlines for assaulting a vlogger. Bhagyalakshmi along with activists Diya Sana and Sreelakshmi Arakkal inked and manhandled a vlogger, who allegedly made derogatory remarks against women on social media. Following the same, she was charged with non-bailable offences.
