Alliance tallies shift across Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Puducherry and Kerala
Counting is underway across four states and the numbers are moving quickly. In Tamil Nadu, where 118 seats are needed for a majority in the 234-seat assembly, independent and smaller party candidates cumulatively hold a tally of 115 seats, with 10 declared and 105 leads still in play, leaving them just 3 short of the majority mark. SPA has a tally of 60 while NDA stands at 55, neither within striking distance of 118 at this stage. In West Bengal, BJP has crossed the majority mark of 148 on tally, leading in 168 seats with 11 won for a combined tally of 179 in the 294-seat house, if those leads hold. TMC trails with a tally of 106, having won 2 and leading in 104. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively lead in 8 seats in West Bengal. In Puducherry, NDA has won 13 and is leading in 5 more for a tally of 18, crossing the majority mark of 16 in the 30-seat assembly if those leads hold. SPA has a tally of 5 in Puducherry. In Kerala, UDF leads the 140-seat count with 68 seats won and 19 leads for a tally of 87, well past the majority mark of 71 if those leads hold. LDF has a tally of 36, with 30 won and 6 leading. Independent and smaller party candidates in Kerala hold a combined tally of 17.
